Phone Life In Las Vegas is inspired by a journey I took through the streets of Las Vegas in 2024 and mine/our obsession with our phones and social media. The track encapsulates the chaotic pulse of contemporary life, flashing lights and digital screens rule, yet genuine connections seem harder to find.
Musically, Phone Life In Las Vegas channels influences of electronic pioneers like The Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy Slim. Marcoussimos's signature style blends electronic dance music with a hint of film soundtracks and indie and rock influences.
Song 2 is a high-energy riot of a bootleg that blends the iconic sounds of Blur and The Beatles with the punchy, vibrant influence of Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers. It's a mashup that takes the catchy hooks of Blurs indie rock anthems and the timeless melodies of The Beatles, then reimagines them with a big, beat-driven electronic twist.
Pins & Needles is a hypnotic tune with a bit of deep house and my love of all things space-like, including guitars! The song sounds I think as if it's about obsession and has a big upbeat chorus - however, the song was written at a time of my life when I was going through a tough time and I couldn't get to sleep - I used to lay in bed at night with anxiety and Pins & Needles would come.
